Beast
A killer
A shape-changing demon
Dodging and weaving
Throwing head fakes
And playing dead
Then staging multiple comebacks
Unwilling to pass quietly
Into that good night
She is persistent
Resolute
And merciless
Killing when she can
Maiming when she might
She persists
Endures
And defies
Counting on human frailty
Vanity
And impatience
To let her get close
Infect
